Fiesta de San Antonio Abad - Celebrated all over Spain with partying and bonfires on the night before, in Barcelona this festival is celebrated on the nearest Saturday to the 17th.

Latin American film festival - Held in Lleida in Catalonia. 

International Jazz Festival -  Held in March, this jazz festival lasts a whole month and features big named musicians from around the world to compete for a very appealing prize.

April
April 23 - La diada de Sant Jordi, in Barcelona, celebrates Spain's patron saint, George, with the giving of flowers to women. Boys and men give a single red rose to their sisters, mothers and grandmothers and receive books in return.

The Spanish Grand Prix - The Circuit de Catalunya, just outside Barcelona, hosts the Spanish Grand Prix, the fourth race of the 2007 Formula One season.

Barcelona Guitar Festival - Barcelona's annual guitar festival features a programme of concerts by master musicians at venues throughout the city from March until May.

Catalunya Moto GP - The Catalonian Moto GP taking place at the Circuit de Catalunya close to Barcelona is one of the most popular rounds of the World Championship.

San Joan Fireworks - Celebrations with firework displays and bonfires in honour of St. Joan on June 23 all over Barcelona neighborhoods. An array of music and entertainment offerings throughout the city. 
 

Sonar Festival of Advanced Music & Art - taking place in the middle of the month, usually over three days.

July
Summercase Festival - Summercase is a fantastic new dual-site concert concept. Set over two days at the Parc del Fòrum in Barcelona and Boadilla del Monte in Madrid, an all-star line-up of over 56 acts plays one day in one city, then swaps over to play the other, so both cities get to enjoy the likes of the Kaiser Chiefs and the Flaming Lips.

August
Festa Major de Gràcia During August, neighborhoods in the city hold their "main festivals." La Gràcia festival is the most famous of them, and residents ornate their streets with wonderful decorations. Prizes awarded for the best street decorations. The festival also includes local food tasting, dances and fun children's activities.

September
Catalonian Independence Day is held annually on September 11. In addition to the traditional celebrations, demonstrators also take to the streets to vocalize their political views. Great look at the romance and spirit of Spanish politics and independence.

Fiesta Mayor y Corre del Bou - Taking place in Cardona (Barcelona) this festival features bull run in the streets, concerts and dancing with people dressed as giants.

Festa de la Mercè -  One of Barcelona's biggest celebrations, it includes fireworks, people on stilts and plenty of alcohol. This annual event, held September 22 to September 24, honors the patron saint of Barcelona, the Virgin of Mercy. An array of fun activities includes street fairs, dancing and traditional Catalonian fanfare.

Santa Llucìa Festival - This December 13-14 event marks the Christmas holiday and the honoring of Saint Lucia. Craft sales abound as residents gather to buy and sell traditional holiday items.
