From the Airport

By Bus - a bus service links the airport with the city centre, this is a cheap way to get to the city centre but it can take some time. The airport is only 9 km away from the city centre but the journey time is about 35-40 minutes and buses are not very frequent : they run every 40 minutes between 7 am and 21.40 at night. There are another two buses linking the airport with Benidorm and Murcia.just 3 main choices of Alicante Airport Bus, the routes to Alicante, Benidorm and Murcia.

By Taxi - taxis are meter operated and are probably the best option to get to the city centre

Car Hire - you can hire a car from the major car hire companies present at the airport

Around Alicante
The city is not very big, therefore walking everywhere is not an impossibility, taxis are also a good option or if you wish to use public transport you can use the trams or the bus system. Alicante has a good bus system ideal for short and long distances, a variety of different bus companies operate from the bus station located in Calle Portugal offering connections to all over Spain

Trains
The main train station is situated in the centre of Alicante with various daily connections to all major Spanish cities: Madrid, Barcelona and Seville. Alicante train station is run by RENFE the state owned railway company.

Alicante Narrow Gauge Railway - Alicante second train station is an narrow gauge railway station close to the harbor. This train station (run by the FGV - Ferrocarils de la Generalitat Valenciana) is most important for local connections to cities along the Costa Blanca: Benidorm, Villajoyosa, Calpe, Altea etc.
